Sara is a trial and appellate lawyer focusing her expertise on case and trial strategy and appeals. Sara has represented clients in the areas of complex commercial disputes, contracts, fiduciary litigation, corporate structuring and litigation, electronic transactions, payment systems, and insurance coverage. She has practiced in federal courts around the country and state courts in various states.

After graduating from law school third in her class, Sara clerked for the Honorable Reed O’Connor, U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Texas.

RESULTS MATTER

  • Second chair in successful trial on claims relating to pipeline and plant construction project in West Texas and New Mexico resulting in a judgment in excess of $10 million.
  • Obtained 12(b)(1) and 12(b)(6) dismissal of most individual defendants in breach of fiduciary duty adversary proceeding pending in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, Houston Division.
  • First chair in successful bench trial in Atlanta, Georgia relating to SaaS Agreements.
  • Third chair in successful trial resulting in multi-million dollar judgment in favor of Operator in Joint Operating Agreement dispute.
  • Successfully negotiated resolution of multi-million dollar case pending in the U.S. District Court of New Jersey, Newark Division, in favor of global client relating to electronic payment transactions and Terms of Use.
  • Obtained 12(b)(1) dismissal of fraud-based claims in franchisor-franchisee action in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Houston Division.
  • Second chair in successful trial of litigation finance lender in multi-million dollar dispute in state district court that arose between attorney borrowers and lender over electronic lending transaction.
  • Sandt v. Energy Maint. Servs. Grp. I, LLC, 534 S.W.3d 626, 637 (Tex. App.—Houston [1st Dist.] 2017, pet. pending). Successful trial and appeal affirming trial court’s decision confirming grant of indemnification to officer of company.
  • Obtained 12(b)(6) dismissal for Houston client in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi, Greenville Division.
  • Second chair in successful arbitration for global payment systems client related to electronic transactions and Terms of Use.
